We engaged Ondoria for an Applied Reading when we were considering whether a language model could assist our compliance review process. What they returned was not what we expected — it was better. The paper identified a constraint we had not thought to mention, and its assessment of that constraint was accurate.

The Quiet Pilot gave our team something to examine together rather than something to simply accept. That distinction matters to us — our engineers are precise people and they do not work well with black-box outputs. Ondoria understood this from the first exchange.

We are in our second year of Practice Counsel. The quarterly reflections are the part of the arrangement I look forward to most. They are honest documents — they note where the team's thinking has been sound and where it has drifted from the original framing. That kind of frank reading is genuinely hard to find.

We came to Ondoria after a previous consultant had recommended a model deployment that, on reflection, we were not ready for. The Applied Reading confirmed our doubts in writing and gave us a clear account of what we needed to address first. It was worth considerably more than its price.

Straightforward and disciplined. We ran a pilot on our quality inspection workflow and Ondoria kept the scope exactly where we agreed it would be. No scope inflation, no additional recommendations we had not asked for. The written record is now part of our internal documentation.

What I appreciated most was that Ondoria did not try to sell us the next engagement at the end of the first. The reading stood on its own. When we did return for a pilot, it was because the reading had earned our confidence — not because of any pressure.

§ II — Case studies
Detailed engagement records
Case Study — Financial Services
Reading a compliance question in a multilingual document environment
The question
A financial services firm was reviewing whether a model could assist analysts in reading Bahasa Malaysia and English regulatory documents and flagging relevant passages for human review.
The reading
Ondoria conducted an Applied Reading that examined the document types in use, the accuracy requirements of the review task, and the risk profile of a false negative. The paper identified that the available training data for Bahasa Malaysia regulatory text was thinner than the client had assumed.
The outcome
The firm deferred model deployment and used the reading's recommendations to address the data gap first. The reading was shared with their technology steering group and formed the basis of a revised roadmap. Timeline: 3 weeks.
Case Study — Manufacturing
Piloting visual inspection support in a production environment
The hypothesis
An engineering team wanted to test whether a model could assist in the early identification of surface defects on a production line, flagging items for human review rather than making autonomous decisions.
The pilot
Ondoria designed and ran a Quiet Pilot over six weeks, testing a single defect category. Outputs were reviewed by the quality engineering team at each stage. The team examined the model's reasoning directly and kept notes on its error patterns.
The record
The written record documented the error rates observed, the conditions under which the model performed less reliably, and the questions the team would need to answer before a broader rollout. The team continued the work independently. Timeline: 6 weeks.
Case Study — Professional Services
Practice Counsel for a team building applied capability from within
The situation
A professional services firm had assembled a small data function and wanted to develop applied AI capability without outsourcing the work. They wanted an independent reader who could help them think clearly as the work developed.
The counsel
Ondoria entered a twelve-month Practice Counsel arrangement. The counsel attended monthly team meetings on invitation, read the team's work as it developed, and returned quarterly written reflections noting what was sound and what warranted further thought.
What remained
At the close of the year, the team held four written reflections, a consistent analytical record, and — in their own assessment — a more disciplined approach to framing applied questions. The arrangement was extended for a second year. Duration: 12 months, renewed.
